Beginning with a sheath dress block, in the first year patternmaking class with a partner, we fitted, designed, patterned and sewed a dress with princess panels, a scoop neckline, and mini length.  The development process included staying true to the looser mod silhouette of the 1960s and choosing a fabric that embraced the bright prints and patterns that were emerging with new synthetic dyeing technology at that time.
